REVIEW OF “HOW TO GET A COLD”

LE SON DU GRISLI

Comme son nom l’indique, Criticon Duo est une rencontre tchéco-espagnole. Le premier est trompettiste (doué à l’objet) : Petr Vrba. Le second est saxophoniste (doué à l’objet aussi, et qui touche à l’électronique malgré la mise en garde de ses parents) : Tomas Gris. A Prague (Praha), ils ont été enregistrés l’an passé. 

Quand on pense aux efforts d’Adolf Sax pour anéantir les effets de l’asthme, on regrette que Gris ait accepté d’intituler l’enregistrement How To Get A Cold (c’est en effet un état aggravant). Forcément, il y a sur le CD beaucoup de courants d’air et, en plus, nous voilà dès le début coincés dans l’un ou l’autre des deux conduits. Comment faire alors ? 

Au début, on craint l’échange réductionniste de trop (autrement dit : de rien), post-Dörnervs. post-Butcher, mais le duo est assez malin (ou inconscient) pour contrer nos attentes. Et fiiouuu… c’est du vent dans du papier à cigarette et des grattements comme on en rêvait. Enrhumé maintenant, comme contents nous sommes !
